Dell Vostro 1310 Laptop

Price range: $1,182.00  -  $1,182.00

Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz), 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 4.6 lbs, 13.3 TFT active matrix, Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition
Review Source: CNET.com
Editor's rating: 7.7
Good: Reasonably priced; attractive design; antiglare display; corporate-level security, including TPM; thorough feature set; decent battery life; support package focused on small business.
Bad: Keyboard feels cheap; cramped touch pad.
Bottom line: Small-business owners who would otherwise buy a consumer laptop should consider the full-featured, 13.3-inch Dell Vostro 1310.

Summary: This is awesome computer for small buisnesses.
by techie21 - September 28, 2008
Pros: Its screen size is perfect, because it isn't to small, and it isn't so big that its unportable.
I think the touchpad is fine, but I have small hands!
Cons: I have only one and thats that the keyboard feels cheap, but it isn't.

Fantastic computer for students, and small buisnesses, looking for a compact and powerful computer.

Summary: Great features for the price, but mediocre quality
by computophile - August 31, 2008
Pros: For the price, one can pack in a fast processor, lots of memory, an enormous hard drive, security features, and a nice screen, into a reasonably small package. Good value!
Cons: Corners of the case are so sharp that they hurt one's forearms when typing. The layout of the Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn keys is very awkward. Problems with nVidia card Dell can't fix, and other keyboard problems.

A disappointing computer compared to what I've come to expect from Dell, but it works well enough. This was supposed to be the Latitude line for small business owners but our office's D420s and D610s were better designed laptops, albeit now underpowered -- so, we're compelled to switch to Vostro. BTW, the new E-series Latitutdes have the same sharp corners and poorly laid out movement keys as the Vostro 1310.

Summary: Again a bad thin and light notebook PC
by giuliocesare - May 2, 2008
Pros: Lightweight and thin
Cons: Screen size, slot loaded optical drive, fingerprint reader; ugly

Again this is a bad attempt at a thin and light notebook PC. Even one of my once favorite PC lines, the Dell Vostro, is beginning to deteriorate. The only good thing is that it actually is thin and light. However I find this PC to be ugly (on the exterior). A slot loaded optical drive is also a big problem for me. Also, with the fingerprint reader it looks even uglier than it would be without. They could have at least made it hidden or something like this. Finally, the screen size is bad. 13.3" is either too big (compared to 12.1") or too small (compared to 14.1").
