Good:
Extremely thin and light; built-in DVD burner and DisplayPort connection; optional WWAN, GPS, and wireless USB.
Bad:
Expensive; touch pad's location makes it easy to accidentally graze while typing.
Bottom line:
The 13.3-inch ThinkPad X301 offers all the benefits of its predecessor, plus better performance. It's pricey, but worth the expense for highly mobile users seeking a thorough feature set in a sleek, lightweight case.

Summary: Best laptop I've owned in 20 years by pauld11 - December 31, 2008 Pros: Fast processor, astonishingly fast SSD drive, silent - no fan nor drive noise, great screen, very light, GPS and WWAN-or-WiMax built in, good battery life, clean no-nonsense looks. Cons: GPS slow acquiring signal, also fails with default GoogEarth. Had a Verizon WWAN account from last laptop; nightmare transferring that account to the Verzion chip in this one. Multiple calls to Verzion & Lenovo no help; Verizon finally got it done. |

CNET's review doesn't mention that you can disable the touchpad to eliminate the problem they had with accidentally grazing its surface.
I've owned a lot of laptops and used many more. This is by far the nicest. Such a difference the SSD makes in speed. The silence of this laptop is eerie.
The only downside is two months after I bought it Intel came out with the quad-core laptop processors. Oh well, I knew it when I ordered it.
I rarely ever write product reviews but when a product is this good...

Summary: Looks Good - But I got a Lemon - Failed in Windows XP by BarryFree - December 16, 2008 Pros: Nice lightweight design.Customer Service was anything but and seemed to try hard to make us keep this product beyond the 21 day return period. Cons: Ordered it with Windows XP installed. We got a Windows Vista set of recovery disk. Opened several tickets relating to various BSOD. The port replicator, TPM, Norton Antivirus all weaked havoc on this PC. To make matters worse the |

Bottom line - Lenovo Support reeks from the top down. If you can't support your product, you should not sell it. Maybe this PC worked well in a Vista environment, all I can testify is it failed poorly in a demanding Windows XP Corporate environment.
Once one error was resolved, another would just pop up. I never say anything like it, having been in the business for 14 years. They wanted to send a tech out to exchange it or fix it. By that time we were through with this heartache. At what point do you admit that the product does not work for a customer and cheefully refund the $$$?
